Terms & Conditions

End User License Agreement (EULA) • Effective August 16, 2026

1 Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Code Signing Toolkit (the "Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to all terms, you must not install or use the Software.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "Licensee") and TechRuzz ("we", "us", "Licensor").

2 License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms and payment of applicable fees, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on the number of machines specified by your license tier.

The Software is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by TechRuzz.

3 License Tiers

Free Tier

  • Unlimited installations for personal and internal development use
  • Basic features: certificate generation, single-file signing, hash generation, verification
  • No commercial distribution rights for signed binaries

Pro License ($29 one-time)

  • Hardware-bound to 1 machine
  • All Pro features: Azure Trusted Signing, Watcher Auto-Sign, Batch Signing, Pre-Flight Checker, MOTW Unblock, Cert Vault, EV Token Auto-Unlock
  • Commercial use rights for signed binaries
  • Lifetime updates within the v3.x series

Team License ($59 one-time)

  • Hardware-bound to up to 4 machines
  • Includes Headless CLI and CI Runner licenses (bypasses hardware binding for build servers)
  • All Pro features + team activation support

4 Restrictions

You may NOT:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Software
  • Share, distribute, publish, or sublicense your license key
  • Circumvent hardware binding or license validation mechanisms
  • Use the Free tier for commercial software distribution
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any proprietary notices on the Software
  • Rent, lease, lend, sell, or redistribute the Software
  • Use the Software to sign malicious code, malware, or deceptive executables

5 Hardware Binding

Pro and Team licenses are cryptographically bound to your machine's hardware fingerprint (CPU ID + MAC address hash using HMAC-SHA256). The license key will only validate on the hardware it was activated on.

Transfers

  • You may request one (1) license transfer per 12-month period due to hardware failure or major upgrades
  • Transfers require deactivation on the original machine and reactivation on the new one
  • Contact support@codesigningtoolkit.com with both Hardware IDs to initiate a transfer

CI Runner Licenses

Team License holders receive CI Runner keys that bypass hardware binding, intended for ephemeral CI/CD build servers (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, etc.).

6 Self-Signed Certificates

⚠️ Important: Certificates generated by this Software are self-signed and intended for development, testing, and internal distribution only.

Self-signed certificates will trigger Windows SmartScreen warnings when distributed to end-users. For public software distribution, you must obtain a CA-issued code signing certificate from a trusted Certificate Authority (e.g., DigiCert, Sectigo, SSL.com).

You are solely responsible for ensuring any certificates you use comply with applicable laws, platform requirements, and your organization's security policies.

7 Third-Party Services

The Software integrates with third-party services, each governed by their own terms:

  • Microsoft Azure Trusted Signing — subject to Azure Terms of Service
  • RFC 3161 Timestamp Authorities (DigiCert, Sectigo, SSL.com, GlobalSign) — subject to respective TSA terms
  • Windows SDK / signtool.exe — subject to Microsoft SDK license terms

We are not responsible for the availability, security, or terms of these third-party services.

8 Warranty Disclaimer

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Software will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with all systems. We do not warrant that signed executables will be accepted by any operating system, antivirus, or distribution platform.

9 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TechRuzz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, business, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Software.

In no event shall our total aggregate liability exceed the amount you paid for the Software license (or $29 for Pro, $59 for Team).

You assume full responsibility for the use of signed executables and any consequences arising from malware detection, SmartScreen warnings, or distribution platform rejections.

10 Termination

This license is effective until terminated. It will terminate automatically if you breach any term of these Terms. Upon termination, you must uninstall the Software and destroy all license keys.

We reserve the right to revoke licenses obtained fraudulently or used in violation of these Terms without refund.

11 Updates & Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Software after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Major changes will be announced via our website and within the Software.
